There are several areas throughout Eileadora to live or work.  Homes vary from grand noble estates, to homes for the commoner, to underground hovels.  One can take over management of a main structure/business, own a small shop, or manage a guild.  All areas that are vacant and available are labeled.

Noble Homes: N# - Noble homes are for those with status or means. ** Nobles may also request quarters within the castle.
Townhomes: T# - These are 3 story houses meant for larger families who arent 'noble'.
Homes: H# - More basic housing for those with a job but not necessarily rich, or no need for a larger space. ** Homes may usually have a basement added so long as I still have building room. Just ask.

Underground: U# - There are several rooms throughout the waterways that can be claimed for any number of purposes. Some new areas can still be created if you're looking for something specific (there are also underground caves)

Shops: S# - Shops are split between the Craftsman's District (master trades) and the Merchant's District (generic shops). Merchant's/Tradesmen can also take up a spot in the marketplace by the docks, or the underground marketplace if their goods need to be a bit more secretive >.>

When claiming a structure:

Most main buildings are enabled for an area description. Currently most 'housing' areas are not set up for descriptions as they should be private. The only exception of this is the first floor of a noble's home or town home (as their bedrooms are typically upstairs).

This description is typically only enabled for the ground floor, with a few exceptions, but you can mention the upper levels if you wish.

Area descriptions should set the mood for the room. Anything a person would notice by sight, sound, smell, or possibly touch/feel/sense.  This description can be activated from anywhere in the room (it is not limited to the entry) with the !look command or by clicking the giant eye.

When picking out your area and having it decorated, it would be helpful if you have any ideas towards this description.

If you'd like to write it yourself, or have a friend write it, that is fine. If you'd like to have me or a staff member write it, that is also fine but as it will be your space, you should have some say in the atmosphere.

A quick elaboration on shopkeeping and the Merchant's Guild:

Your character does NOT have to join the Merchant's Guild in order to own a shop. The MG is an optional organization composed of elite craftsmen. Master ranking merchants of the guild generally accrue a wider customer base due to their mastery, they are certifiably excellent at what they do. The Guild provides benefits including (but not limited to) health care coverage, security, and advertisement. It's a good route to go if you enjoy incorporating a smidgen of complex process into playing your character's profession.

DISCLAIMER: Your character can be a phenomenal crafter, own a shop, and still not be a part of the MG. They can purchase property through the queendom. Presently, there is no IC process for this as the property liaison character has been placed on hiatus. Whisper Heather Bee.
