In the late evening hours a young male courier would enter the guild with three parcels and a small bit of parchment, a letter. Inside each square, flat box was one small wreath, each of a different make and style from the others; One held baby's breath, red amaryllis, yellow phlox and white chrysanthemums among the green ferns. Another of red roses and delicate white casa blanca lilies balanced with vibrant green leaves and yellow Asiatic lilies. The final wreath had a mixture of red and yellow holly berry, helleborus and star of Bethlehem flowers amid baby's breath dotted here and there throughout the green leafy accompaniment.  The small letter that was sent with it read as follows;

Quote from: Lady Ameera Nasrin Sherazi-Drubunir, Master Horticulturist
Messrs. Grimblepot, Hartman and Robert,

I thank you for your interest in my work and am most happy to oblige your requests. I do so hope that the three wreaths I have sent will suffice in lending a more warm and festive ambiance to the headquarters. Do be sure to write if you have any further need of floral accompaniment, they do add a certain flare to any occasion.

By the by, I would like to assure you that, despite questionable appearances, all three pieces of gold were indeed accounted for.

Best seasons greetings to you,

Lady Ameera Sherazi-Drubunir,
Master Horticulturist

*Edited, I realized that one of my wreath's was the same picture by accident!*

« on: December 19, 2017, 10:13:43 PM »
A notice has been posted at the doors to the Conservatory that reads as follows;

Quote
To celebrate the Winter Holiday's now upon us, from the Winter Solstice and Yuletide through Candlemas, special winter floral arrangements will be sold at the Conservatory for a special fee! From now until the 2nd day of February, you can get an array of pre-made flower arrangements at the Conservatory, or at the Conservatory's market stall - along with the usual wares available twice weekly.

Such arrangements range from wreath's and baskets, to centerpieces and bouquets. All arrangements are available for as low as 5 silver a piece, or as high as 2 gold. Price varies upon the size of the arrangement.  Personal arrangements are also being offered for a lowered rate and can be purchased for 3 - 5 gold a piece. (Three for small handcrafted arrangements, five for large ones.) These arrangements must be requested no later than two days in advance and can be tailored to suit your flower preferences. The price is of course dependent on the size and complexity of the arrangement. Please see one of our attendants for any inquiries or to make your purchase.

Sincerely wishing you all happy holiday's this season.

Conservatory / A Gift For The "Re-Newly" Weds
« on: September 01, 2017, 08:03:46 PM »
On the eve before Draum ( @Draum ) and Delysia ( @Rose ) Snowe's Renewal Ceremony final touches to the Conservatory were well under way. Lady Ameera and crew had transformed the floral paradise into a romantic getaway for the ceremony as the femme's personal gift to the beloved leopards. The doors to the Conservatory itself remained locked to all visitors that were not invited by the couple themselves or part of Ame's staff. From outside lights could be seen twinkling through white curtains, though little else was able to be gleaned from nosy neighbors and onlookers.

On the day of the event only those specially invited guests would be able to step inside and see the lovely arrangements that had been put in place...

Conservatory / Re: Painting the Roses Red
« on: August 26, 2017, 05:05:46 PM »
In the days since the painted flowers were discovered the Conservatory has been in chaos; the stone courtyards and water fountains littered by a colorful carnage of flowers of all types. All the offended blossoms had been cut away, leaving many a bush, vine and trellis as nothing more than green leaves and stems, their flowers left to grow and bloom anew. The stone fountain in the courtyard and the pool for aquatic flora overflowed with white flowers, splotched with multi-hued paints. The colorful array spilling over the cool stone walls, some had stuck and dried on in the noonday sun while others wilted in shallow puddles.

Some citizens about the town and harbor would notice many flowers of the same nature floating along the coast, pushed and pulled by the flowing rivers before tumbling free of the freshwater and ensnared by the salty sea-spray and the oceans demanding current. There were not enough to clog the waterways as in the Conservatory, but it was enough to create quite the multi-hued spectacle.

By Saturday morning the courtyard was clear of fallen flowers, the fountains still filled to the brim with the colorful display while every last painted bud, stripped away from their place, now sat gathered in baskets, vases and pots intended for market. By the end of the day half of those stained blossoms that had been collected and deemed fit enough for use by the public, would be delivered to Sunrose Art Supplies with the hopes that someone would find a use for them. The rest would be seen displayed in unique arrangements lining that of the Conservatory's Marketplace stall, housed in tall thin pots and multiple small glass vases of varying shapes. A friendly young chipmunk attended the cart during market hours, happily selling all arrangements at half their worth due to the artistic additions weighing on the sheer white petals.

Come nightfall on Saturday the 26th, with still no news of those held responsible, the Master Horticulturist closed and locked the entrance to the Conservatory. And so they would remain locked for the rest of the week to see to repairs, first and foremost. But also to get started on the decorations for Draum ( @Draum ) and Delysia ( @Rose ) Snowe's vow renewals in a week's time. The only persons allowed entry would be staff, what few others who were assisting in the repairs and preparations, and of course the happy couple who had reserved the space for the entire week more than a month ago. Any other visitors will be considered trespassing and will be escorted out by security staff.

Upon entering her Conservatory later that day Ameera would certainly notice something was amiss. The smell of paint in the air to be exact, a scent that would easily stand out to the blind femme. Someone had clouded the scent of her conservatory with paints! Naturally this alarmed the doe; who would come into her sacred space and tarnish it like so? Upon discovering that the paint was on her very flowers, not on the walkways or walls as she had hoped and prayed, her immediate thought was to try and rinse it away.

Watercolors should not even be able to stain her beautiful flowers, the natural oils in their petals should have repelled such colorful and unwanted additions! When, however, such paints did not come free as they should have a loud cry of lament would be heard coming from within the glass-walled building, disturbing those near enough to hear it.

While a more savvy businessman would naturally cry outrage because of the damages to their stock, Ame's true outrage and despair was that someone had seen, smelled and touched her unfinished masterpiece, her work in progress, only to deem it lacking. That they had treated it like a blank canvas that was not theirs to paint. Her lifelong desire and efforts to recreate the olfactory symphony she once knew as a child, now drowned and unfamiliar; her task now even further from completion than it was before.

To say that the petite doe was utterly distraught was an understatement! What would she do about her commissions? The requested orders that called for white, sweet smelling flowers? What was she to do with all these decorated buds? Who had done this?

Once she was able to calm herself the doe sent word to Master @Dralt to inform him of what had been done to her stock as well as to seek his advice on how to proceed. Next was an inquiry sent to the guard ( @Alhsom ) to entreat their help in tracking down who was responsible for what Ame could only deem as vandalism. After that she informed her staff that the Conservatory is no longer to be open to the public after sundown and is to remain locked until dawn each night.

Her final act - until she receives some manner of advice from Dralt or Alhsom - was to locate and document each flower, bush and vine whose delicate petals had been painted so... And calculate the cost of the damage. Whoever had done this was going to pay dearly. A very, very pretty penny.

Commission Title: La Langue Des Fleurs
Payment Status: PAID

Date: The 09th of July, XX17
Status: COMPLETED
Payment Estimate: 1 Gold & 2 Silver

Commissioner(s): Master ( @Dralt ) Dralt

Flowers Requested: Iris (Purple), Chrysanthemums (White), Agrimony (Yellow), Heather (Purple & White).
Amount Requested: Single bouquet, size not yet specified at this time.
Style Requested: If Applicable

Notes: In consideration of the flowers chosen I have taken it upon myself to suggest some additions: Canterbury Bells (Purple) - chosen both for meaning and for the delightful hanging bell shape to offset the conical form of the Heather and Agrimony - and Fennel (Yellow) for the small, clustered formation of the buds and for its similarity to that of Baby's Breath.

On the eve of July 10th small sample bouquets ( 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 ) were sent via hand delivery to the residence of Master Dralt for his choice and approval for the final arrangement. I included with these samples a simple card requesting that the chosen bouquet be returned for its use as a template, the others are his to do with as he pleases. The cost of the commission was determined upon the return of the chosen bouquet and includes the cost for the samples. I have forwarded the bill for the services to his residence along with a note that he may expect a completed bouquet by no later than Friday, the 14th of July. Delivery or pick up to be determined at a later date.

Conservatory / Re: A Nearly Formal Introduction
« on: November 05, 2016, 09:00:14 PM »
Lady Ameera has been quite distracted as of late; a new commission to deal with, gardening lessons with what few students she has, and caring for twin infants has left her a bit behind with her correspondence! So it was no surprise that once she had a quiet moment to go over such things she'd find a letter from an unknown person seeking her acquaintance. (A whole week later too! How embarrassing!) The femme would have a reply written for her and personally delivered by her maid, Mirabel. The middle-aged squirrel would linger long enough to determine if they were to send her back with a response before returning to the doe's household.

Quote from: Ameera Nasrin Sherazi
Dear Jhaes Maksa, ( @Fayola )

I hope this letter finds you well and in good spirits. I must apologize I had not come across your letter sooner, my last few weeks have felt like a blur. You wrote that you are acquainted with Baron Snowe and that he spoke of me with you? That was quite kind of him.

You sound to have a nice little collection going. I admit I have a special fondness for the cowhorn orchid (Cyrt) myself, although I have long since been unable to enjoy its lovely coloring, the fragrance and shape are quite lovely. I have a fairly vast collection of Orchids throughout the Conservatory, you should certainly stop by and see them. Although there are many very lovely orchids there, I would have to say that my favorites are from the dracula genus. They are quite intriguing to the touch although I do not think I have ever had the pleasure of ever seeing them before.

I would be happy to meet with you and discuss all manner of botany. Perhaps in the next week or so we might manage just that? I am often in the Conservatory three-four days a week for a few hours at a time. But should you wish for a more relaxed setting an afternoon tea at the Bakery or coffee at the Cafe would do nicely as well. Do let me know when is convenient for you.

Regards,

Lady Ameera Nasrin Sherazi

Ps: You are forgiven, of course.

It would not be until after the letter was delivered that Ameera would wonder if Draum had told Jhaes that she is blind. If not then the comment about never having seen a flower that she tends to shall certainly sound odd!

TL:DR
+Ame is a derp and didn't have the letter read to her until a week later.
+She remarks on the collection mentioned and shares that among her own collection her favorite orchids are from the Dracula genus.
+Ame invites Jhaes to come and discuss botany with her at the Conservatory, or to meet at the Bakery/Cafe instead.
+She totally forgives him for his improper introduction because it's totally
@Draum's fault for not giving them a proper introduction. Yepyep![/list]

Enchantments

As of late October, XX16, the Conservatory was given weather enchantments courtesy of Callister. These enchantments make it possible for there to be rain, snow and warm, sunny weather inside the Conservatory. The only people with the permissions to trigger the changes in weather are Conservatory employees and the mage who put them in place. Presently the Conservatory's chambers are markedly different, the main room providing a climate suitable to Spring and Summer while the secondary room's weather is more aligned with Autumn and Winter. For additional information about each room of the conservatory, read below.
