Character Sheets / Victor Levesque
« on: December 22, 2017, 03:57:29 PM »
Furcadia Name: Victor Levesque
Aliases: The CROCO-DIRE (but you don't know that)
Species: Human
Age: 34
Gender: Male
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 245 lbs.
Skin Color: Light brown/deeply tanned
Style: Wavy dark aquamarine hair that flowed down to just above his shoulders and, through the power of faith and magic, somehow never fell over his face
Eye Color: Hazel and green
Scars: A small scar along his right shoulder blade

Demeanor:A loud and proud warrior, otherwise a generally agreeable and cheerful fellow.
Alignment: Lawful Good
Profession: Battle Cleric

Resistances: Evil magic, curses, disease, some poisons, almost supernaturally hardy and durable
Weaknesses: Personal space and decorum issues (tends to be a bit TOO friendly), mortal, limited cleric spell pool (cannot turn undead, detect evil, or detect undead)
Phobias: Being paralyzed or otherwise unable to move

Statistics:
Strength (STR): Medium
Dexterity (DEX): Medium
Constitution (CON): High
Intelligence (INT): Low
Wisdom (WIS): Low
Charisma (CHA): High

Details:
Weapons
- Fists of Justice - A pair of dangerous looking thick metal gauntlets normally worn upon the cleric's belt. The knuckles and hand guard are inlaid with silver.

Armor
- Plate Boots/Greaves and chain mail - Steel armor plating strapped around leather boots along with a heavy chain mail shirt and leggings comprises the entirety of Victor's protection.
- Book of the Faith - A small book with an ornate metal cover that is always locked tight. Actually just a normal, if fancy, hollowed out book used for storage.
- Symbol of Hope - A heart shaped locket made of copper and brass worn underneath his clothes.

Abilities
(Natural)
- Optimist Aura - Victor has the uncanny ability to rarely, if ever, be sad or depressed. Part of it can be attributed to his faith and part to his general nature.
- Alcohol Tolerance - While clerics have the ability to cure poison and disease magically, Victor doesn't need all that to down copious amounts of booze.
- The Big Guy - Victor has the build of freight train compacted into a six foot tall space. He's, simply put, massive.
(Learned)
- Pugilist - Victor's preferred method of fighting involves punching. Lots of punching. He's very good at it.
- Holy Magic - Being a cleric of the faith, Victor can cast certain spells of the holy variety but, due to his nature, only ever bothered to learn the 'fun' ones. As such he knows the following:
Lay On Hands/Cure Wounds: Your basic spell for patching things up.
Shield of Faith: Because you can't punch an archer until you get to them.
Purify/Protection from Poison and Disease: Cures a significant amount of ailments and poisons. But not the common cold.
True Seeing: To punch ghosts.
Daylight: To punch the darkness.
Hallow: Despite not liking the boring spells his teachers made him learn at least ONE typical holy spell. This one makes a certain area within 60 feet hallowed ground so that the dead there can move onto bigger and better things.
Divine Strength: For hitting harder, faster, and shiny-er.
Fist of God: The wrath of the divine spread across four knuckles. Non-denominational.

Appearance:
A large man clad in simple clothing inscribed with the symbols of his faith. A strong sense of calm dignity seems to flow off of him like eddies on a river. The cleric wore a thick leather belt with a pair of large metal gauntlets and a small book on a chain attached to it. The only armor he choose to wear where steel plate boots and greaves; also etched with religious emblems.

Twin Drakes Archives / Re: Vasile Vanished
« on: April 26, 2017, 11:16:31 PM »
Kenneth, having seen the posting on the guild board, would start asking around the docks and the stables to see if anyone had seen someone matching Vasile's description board a ship out of the harbor or a coach out of the city.

Hopefully one of the many shipyard workers, local fishermen, or sailors would have seen and remembered something.

Q&A / Re: "Non-Lethals"
« on: September 16, 2016, 05:31:28 PM »
I think we're all missing the obvious answer:

visitors can't see pics , please register or login

I think if you want to incapacitate someone with a ranged weapon you'd be better off going for magical nonsense (taser arrow?) or doing some kind of knock-out gas in a breakable tip that you just fire near your target. Otherwise just do the Disney thing and pin people to stuff by their clothing.

Character Sheets / Kenneth Starboard
« on: July 03, 2016, 01:45:53 AM »
Name: Kenneth Starboard
Player: WeekendSuperhero
Gender: Male
Nicknames: Ken, old man
Race: Human
Class: Ranger/Demon Hunter
Alignment: Neutral Good
Age: 65
Body Type: Large and toned
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 215lbs
Complexion: Tanned and leathery
Hair: Gray
Eyes: Light blue
Handedness: Right handed
Scars: None
Relationship Status: Single
Personality: Calm, collected, diligent
Mannerisms: Calculated movements, no extraneous waste of energy

Likes: Fishing, cooking, fair weather, sailing, polite children, happy faces
Dislikes: Demons, most supernatural creatures, evil in general, paladins that aren't doing their jobs

Empaths: A deep calm with a burning sense of righteous justice at his core (fluctuates based on mood)
Aura: Blue hues with a core of brilliant white surrounded by a corona of dark red

Statistics:
Strength (STR): Medium
Dexterity (DEX): Medium
Constitution (CON): Medium
Intelligence (INT): Medium
Wisdom (WIS): Medium
Charisma (CHA): Medium

Abilities:
Detect Evil: Kenneth has a low level ability to sense demons, the undead, and some supernaturals with violent intent which manifests itself as a slight tightening in his stomach and a feeling of immediate alertness akin to a 'fight or flight' response. This is not a directional ability; it will not allow him to locate anything hiding nearby or pick an individual out of a crowd.

Healing Receptive: Healing and holy magics have increased effect on Kenneth. This is the reason that, despite being involved in countless fights, he has no scars.[/b]

Outdoorsman: Kenneth has a plethora of skills well suited for survival and general hunting (Sewing, foraging, tracking, orienteering, knot-typing, etc.).

Hand to hand combat: Kenneth tries to avoid direct fighting when he can now that he's up there in the years. His combat style revolves around quick boxing strikes, joint-locks/breaks, and using an opponent's weight and momentum against them.

Sailor: Back before he hunted demons Kenneth was a sailor and still retains most of the basic job skills. While he isn't a captain or navigator Ken can adequately rig and sail a small boat.

Items:
Undine's Blade: A fairly plain-looking hilt wrapped in an extra layer of leather at the grip, this gladius is made of pure crystalline ice that is as hard as any steel weapon. It is enchanted to constantly radiate sub-zero temperatures. Because of this it can only be wielded for a limited amount of time before it risks freezing ambient water vapor to its blade and becoming more of a short club; not to mention the risk of hypothermia. The hilt of the weapon safely prevents its magical effects without melting it.

Silver Flask: A simple drinking flask kept inside his leather jacket. Always contains holy water.

Belt Pouches: Small corked glass vials of powdered dragons-bane, rock salt, and powdered wolfs-bane are kept in these well-padded pouches.

Cold Iron Shiv: Part of a cold-iron horseshoe tempered to have a sharp edge. Much cheaper than having to buy some fancy anti-fae weapon.

Dog Whistle: A copper whistle that emits an extremely high-pitch, and somewhat painful, sound that only certain animals and supernatural creatures can hear.

Fishing poles: Two plain fishing poles. For fishing.

Rapier: A master-work steel blade that has silver inlaid near the cutting edges and tip. This makes the weapon slightly more brittle. Which may explain why it's currently broken and more of a jagged knife.

Description:
An old human, roughly six feet tall, with thin gray short-cropped hair and a rough, stubbly beard. He wears clothing that looks as weatherbeaten and worn as he is; a thin cotton shirt, ocean blue traveler's pants, faded black leather boots, and a thick leather jacket. Despite his age the man is built like a boxer, only without the broken nose and cauliflower ears. A short sword rides on his belt, along with a few leather pouches of various wear.

Character Sheets / Antonio Lafarre
« on: January 04, 2016, 10:47:27 PM »
A little about my previous experience:

I played in Eileadora and Etla as a few characters and had a pretty good time. My main guy was this old demon hunter called Kenneth S (because when I made him I couldn't think of a last name). But I'm giving RP another shot to try to get some creative writing going again.

Why I'd like to join:

I remember it being pretty fun here and there's still a lot of people around.

Character Name: Antonio Lafarre
Aliases: Tony (he hates it)
Species: Felis domesticus (cat)
Age: 28
Gender: Male
Height: 5' 9"
Weight: 160lbs
Fur/Skin Color: Grey
Hair Color/Style: Grey (dyed a dark blue)
Eye Color: Blue/hazel
Markings/Scars: None

Demeanor: Charming, polite, witty. Affably Evil.
Alignment: Neutral Evil
Profession: Thief, rogue, scoundrel, pickpocket, gentleman

Resistances: Illusions, sleight of hand.
Weaknesses: Large ego. Thinks he's smarter than everyone in the room.
Phobias: Magical curses, ghosts, and dead bodies.

Statistics:
Strength (STR): Low
Dexterity (DEX): Medium
Constitution (CON): Low
Intelligence (INT): Medium
Wisdom (WIS): High
Charisma (CHA): High

Details:
Weapons
-Cane Sword: An ebony walking cane with a hidden blade inside. A small push-button lock in the handle prevents the weapon from coming loose but makes quick-drawing it harder.
-Throwing daggers: At any time Antonio has six of these ten inch daggers stashed on his person. While not an expert marksman, Antonio can reliably hit a nearby target.
-Lockpicks: A set of small metal bars used for picking locks. They'd hurt if you were stabbed with one.

Abilities
(Natural)
- Cat: Normal feline-based skills. Cat-like reflexes, able to see in the dark, chases laser pens, that sort of thing.

(Learned)
- Sleight of hand: Antonio has perfected the hiding of small objects just out of sight with misdirection and deft movements. It's also something he watches for in others.
- Lockpicking: Antonio can pick mundane locks. Magical ones he avoids.
- Illusion/light magic: Antonio can cast light-based illusions (no mental/psionic ones) that can be extremely convincing at first but tend to fall apart under scrutiny. His main offensive way of using this ability is to temporarily blind or dazzle opponents.

Appearance
A debonair feline in his late twenties with impeccable taste. From his slicked back hair to his well manicured claws there was an obvious air of refinement about him. His flawlessly tailored black traveling suit (only a slight step down from formal wear) perfectly matched his ebony walking cane. A set of polished silver cuff links and a simple white collared shirt finishes out his ensemble.
