DUTIES:

Master Crypt Keeper

It is the job of the Master Crypt Keeper to manage both the work and financial side within the Crypt and Graveyard, ensuring the taxes get paid; the walls stay up; things remain orderly; dead don’t become undead; profits happen; and that contract and business relationships stay wonderful and prosperous (Gendarmes, Infirmary, Detective Agency, and other such purveyors of receiving or delivering the deceased to the business with usually specific or special services rendered to assist both parties in their cases or jobs).

As a Master Merchant; the Master Crypt Keeper is able to take apprentices; though they requires Apprentices at least be 16 years of age due to the nature of the work. Within the Merchant’s Guild, the Master Crypt Keeper represents the services to which she and her employees provide to Eileadora as they oversee the passing of the deceased and bring peace to their family.

The Master Crypt Keeper also heads operations for Undercity Body Collection from the individuals who cannot manage to deliver, and those corpses that are abandoned, or most of the time, just found dead (likely murdered or starved to death) along side selected Gravediggers. This community assistance is to hopefully provide a cleaner environment and track possible disease outbreaks that may be developing underground.

In the event of crisis, cataclysm, or mass death, the Master Crypt Keeper works with Assistants to manage 12 hour shifts of body collection, mass body disposal, and continuous cremation.

Assistants
(4 Silvers/Week)

Assistants often work side by side with the Master Crypt Keeper in most matters. Usually experts in their own field, and likely former crypt keepers or undertakers themselves (or just used to getting rid of dead bodies really well), these chosen folks take delegated duties such as body collection, corpse preparation, floor sales, assisting during events and consoling families. They also help round out the studies of Apprentices as they usually hold different technique in the work room.

Duties are as Follows:

• Perform in all funerary or cremation preparations for the recently deceased (flesh crafting, quartz powder implant, and corpse repair included).
• Take the cart and collect deceased as need be to be transported to the  Keller’s Coffins.
• Process and record all valuables of previously passed to be returned to family.
• Provide presence and assistance during all funerary events.
• Deliver messages to Contract partners or Master of Coin.
• Provide mentorship with the Crypt Keeper to Cemetery Apprentices.
• Manage Body Collection, Crematorium and Mass Body Disposal with Crypt Keeper in times of Crisis for 10-12 hour rotational shifts.

Cemetery Wardens
(3 Silvers/Week if not assigned)

Cemetery Wardens are vigilant and always on the lookout for trouble (particularly the kind that causes or starts zombies). They collaborate with or ARE Local Law Enforcement. One may always assume that they’re on site at the graveyard or occasionally checking out the Crypt (don’t worry. They find it just a bit creepy too).

Duties are as Follows:

• Ensure arson, defilement, reanimation, and necromancy attempts do not occur within the graveyard and crypt.
• Collaborate with the Gendarmery on reports of suspicious activities within the aforementioned areas.
• Prevent the theft of equipment & livestock, coffins, and corpses.
• Provide security during funerary events.
• In times of crisis, keep the area clear and orderly for an influx of traffic and protect the facilities.

Gravedigger
(1 Silver/grave, 2 Coppers/hour for Undercity Body Collection)
(Bonus 2 Coppers if outbreaking disease subjects are reported and found.)

Gravediggers are usually not payroll staff, nor considered employees of Keller's Coffins. Usually, these are people that have agreed to manual labor for pay. A Gravedigger while not always on the clock, usually acts as an assisting individual and a second set of eyes when going into the Undercity with the Master Crypt Keeper for Corpse Collection, tracking Disease Outbreaks and Plague; and also Digs Graves when requested, for fair coin.

The Master Crypt Keeper occasionally uses this method for rehabilitation opportunities for those who have fallen onto harder times, are coming out of a life of crime, or if they just want to make an honest buck.

Duties are as follows:

• Removes sod from gravesite, using shovel
• Digs grave to specified depth, using pick and shovel or backhoe.
• Places clothe on bottom and around grave to line it if it is part of the funeral.
• Assist with lowering the casket with Assistants.
• Fill graves. (Casket-filled or Casket Less; Zombies have happened before)
• Accompany the Crypt Keeper into the Undercity for Routine Body Collection.
• Reports outbreaks of diseases or plague, including active subjects to the Master Crypt Keeper.

Cemetery Apprentices
(No Pay - 4 Coppers/Week if skilled)
17 Years of Age or Older Only

Cemetery Apprentices are individuals who have shown high aptitude for working with the deceased and hold other traits (such as having ‘the sight) that have caught the Master Crypt Keeper’s eyes. It is not necessary for these individuals to be skilled in the ways of corpse disposal or preparation yet. Their mentality, grit, empathy, and ability to handle the stresses that come with working with the deceased and their families, both on and off the site are what are taken into consideration during their selection.

Duties are as follows:

• Locates grave site according to section, lot, and plot numbers, and marks area to be excavated by Gravediggers.
• Shadow Assistants and Master Crypt Keeper three times a week on  and off-site.
• Research in spare time merchant trends, death rites, and other death specific customs.
• Assist with funeral purchases, and ceremonies as needed.
• Accompany and provide an extra set of hands to Gravediggers and the set up of graveside funeral venues with Master Crypt Keeper.
• Maintain Cemetery Yard and Clear Cobwebs off reachable areas in the crypt; assist to maintain clean work stations (Crypt, Establishment, and Graveyard)
• Deliver purchased goods accordingly.
• Assist with Body Collection, Crematorium and Mass Body Disposal with Crypt Keeper, and Assistants in times of Crisis for 10-12 hour rotational shifts.
