Perhaps a weird question, but I'm curious: what is the conversation of Eileadoran currency to modern currency (USD, for example)?

Converting the currency to a modern equivilent wouldn't exactly balance out. Closest breakdown with the updated system would be:
Iron - Coins like pennies and nickels
Copper - 1 dollar bills
Silver - 5 dollar bills
Gold - 10 dollar bills
Platinum - 100 dollar bills
But that is very much a stretch. Most transactions in this era were based on bartering. 'I'd like a dozen eggs and I'll trade you a basket of fresh picked apples for them'. The other option was trading goods for services. 'I'll give you a full meal if you mop out the tavern'.
In many cases, the price for something could vary transaction to transaction, so while a shop might have a listed price for wares, the owner could change their mind as they saw fit.

Thanks! I just wanted to get a general idea for future reference.

Squall gave a pretty good summary :) Everything works in a factor of ten however. IE
1 Plat = 10 Gold = 100 Silver = 1,000 Copper = 10,000 iron.
If you have any issues trying to decide how much something should cost, I'm more than happy to help out! Taking into consideration the example payscale in the currency update will help you out a lot, though.
