Personality Demeanor: Shinsuke is cunning and merciless. He has no qualms doing whatever is necessary to accomplish his goals. Likes: Drugs, Sex, and Bardsong. Likes wealth, his research, and knowledge. Has a soft spot for a certain sort of female demon. Dislikes: The sun, Mondays, children, and whatever gets in his way. Phobias (if any): Nothing that he's aware of. Alignment:Neutral Evil (Malefactor)
Description: A purely selfish type, with no concern for other people or the law, but without as much lust for killing as Chaotic Evil characters. Example: Case (from Neuromancer by William Gibson). Cribnote: Society's rules don't pertain to me, but I'm no criminal.
Strength / Resistance: Disease and Poison Immunity Description: He's not a mortal critter. These things don't really do much to him.
Strength / Resistance: Immortal Description: Doesn't age. More durable than a regular human. Still weak to having his head removed, however. Or being shot. Or blown up.
Strength / Resistance: Shade Description: Source of his power. Being a shade, he's got an affinity for shadow magic and stealth, as well as his immortality and resistances to disease, poison, and cold. Grants him magical darkvision, as well as enhanced physical abilities compared to a regular human.
Weaknesses
Weakness: Shade Description: Sun, divine/holy magic, fire (magical or otherwise), and intense sources of light. Sunlight will kill him if he spends too much time directly in it, and bright light renders him virtually blind.
Weakness: Outsider Description: Being a shade, he's basically an outsider aligned with the plane of shadow. He's extremely difficult to resurrect if killed, can be banished and bound like any demon or elemental.
Possessions Weapons
Weapon: Shadesteel blades Description: Twin swords of an ebon metal that upon closer inspection would appear grown rather than forged. Wickedly curved and razor-sharp. They're otherworldly in origin. Light weight, and about as durable as mythril. Eldritch runes are carved along the length of both blades, allowing them to act as foci for his magic.
Also has a collection of 4 matching daggers. They're more or less the same as the swords, just much smaller.

Armor
Armor: Hide of the Unending Night Description: Armor made of otherworldly leather and forged with the same metal as his swords. Almost bone-like plates running along his torso with matching bracers, boots, and leggings. Durable and lightweight. Sacrifices maximum defense to allow for mobility. Etched with runes similar to those on his swords with the goal of stabilizing his magic.
Armor: Regular ol' cloak Description: Full body cloak. Lets him hide from the sun and look cool. It's a nice deep purple. Goes well with his eyes, he thinks.
Trinkets / Items (owned or worn):
Item: Planar Matrix Description: A necklace of intricate design bearing a faintly luminescent violet gem. The function is primarily a means of manipulating barriers between planes and allowing him (relatively) easy transit via the plane of shadow. It's really complicated and he loves talking about how awesome he is for creating it.
Item: Waystones Description: The system Shin uses to traverse planes he's already visited. It's basically just an address so he knows where he's going. Set a runestone up and he can generally find his way back to it provided it's not obstructed or disrupted.
Item: Simulacrum Description: Sometimes, it's sunny outside or you've opened a portal you'd like to peek into before actually stepping through. This construct is a lightweight and roughly humanoid form forged of alchemy and artifice. It isn't particularly good for combat, but it can walk around and interact with the environment. Also capable of speech.
Shinsuke can project his conciousness into it.
Abilities Natural Abilities
Ability: Killing Arts Description: Swordplay and hand to hand combat. He's trained most of his life to perfect his trade as an assassin.
Ability: Planeswalking Description: Using the Plane of Shadow as a conduit, he can access any connected plane. Some are easier than others, and some require a hefty bit of preparation and power. However, he's very familiar with the processes required.
Ability: Alchemy and Artifice Description: He's spent a great deal of time studying these fields in the quest for his immortality, as well as just as a point of interest. He's capable of producing all kinds of potions, tonics, poisons, and elixirs. Can perform transmutation.
As per artifice, he's got a deep understanding of the mechanical and arcane. Built his own construct and the Planar Matrix.
Ability: Stealth Description: If it involves getting into somewhere someone doesn't want you to be, liberating an item from its previous owner, or generally moving unseen, he's your guy. Is also quite good with slight of hand.
Ability: Musician Description: He can play a few instruments, primarily the lute, guitar, and shamisen. He was trained as a bard before stumbling into the way of the assassin.
Learned Abilities:
Ability: Magic Description: Shadow magic: Manipulation of shadows, conjuring darkness, and weaving shadowstuff.
Shadow Evocation: More damaging side of his dark-based magic. Rather than literally shadow-based, manipulates negative energies to create dark reflections of conventional spells. Replicates function, converting elements to cold/neutral/electricity.
Entropic: Domain of negative energy manipulation. Largely debuffs and anti-magic. Can create life force draining and fatiguing effects.
Illusion: Exactly what it sounds like. Can range in quality from minor glamour to very realistic simulations.
Transmutation: Understanding of alchemy allows him to modify matter on a fundamental level. Quality and quantity affected by the amount of energy and time spent.
Spatial/Planar: This domain is the source of his ability to planeshift, open portals, and teleport, etc. Deals with the warping of space and opening rifts. Dangerous and unstable.
